Congratulations to our founder and CEO, Lori Kaiser, CPA, CGMA, MBA, on her recent appointment to the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Governing Council (Council).

Based on recommendations submitted by the state CPA societies, Lori was elected to serve three volunteer
year terms commencing in May 2020 and ending in May 2023. She will be one of two CPAs representing Ohio.

The Council has been the governing body of the AICPA since the Institute's inception in 1887 as the American Association of Public Accountants. It is comprised of approximately 265 influential members and representatives from every state and U.S. Territory.

The Council formally meets twice a year, in May and October, to take action on items which affect the Institute and the profession as a whole. Also, one-day non-public regional meetings of members of Council are held in March of each year. At these meetings, members discuss issues of the moment as the Board frames the agenda for the Spring Council meeting. The meetings also provide the Institute's leadership with input and direction on members' thinking.
