We are excited to announce Corynn Moore, a senior at Ohio University (OU), as the recipient of a $500 college scholarship from Kaiser Consulting. An honors student in the College of Business, Corynn is currently pursuing two bachelor's degrees – one in Accounting and one in Business Pre-Law.
She is also working towards earning her Law, Justice, and Culture certificate through OU, which enables her to study criminology and political science – topics she finds interesting.
Corynn accepted her academic scholarship from Kaiser Consulting while attending The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) 2nd Annual Women, Wealth and Wellness Conference. The event was held virtually on July 23, 2020.
In its ongoing goal to support today's students who are the CPAs of tomorrow, The Ohio CPA Foundation invited Corynn and several other impressive accounting students to attend the conference as guests of the Foundation.
Sponsored by the OSCPA’s Women’s Initiative Committee, the conference provides resources for women to overcome obstacles on the path to success and learn methods for building confidence in their personal and professional roles.
While accepting her scholarship, Moore said:
“Thank you all for the opportunity to be here today, especially to the wonderful people at Kaiser Consulting and the OSCPA. I am honored to receive this scholarship from Kaiser Consulting, and I am thoroughly enjoying the Women, Wealth & Wellness Conference.”
Before beginning her college journey, Corynn graduated as valedictorian from Waverly High School in May of 2017. In addition to excelling in the classroom, she currently serves as the student Marketing and Communication Coordinator for OU’s Innovation Center.
Corynn is also a member of the Copeland Scholars Program, Ohio University Consulting Fellows Program, and Beta Alpha Psi. She indicates that these organizations help her grow personally and professionally by developing her leadership and communication skills and providing hands-on experience with real clients.
Corynn has a passion for tax accounting and thoroughly enjoys conducting research and analyzing case law to find the best approach for clients. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a future as a tax accountant.
“I love seeing talented young women entering the CPA profession,” said Lori Kaiser, CPA, CGMA, MBA, founder and CEO of Kaiser Consulting and chair of the OSCPA’s Women Initiatives Committee. “Our firm is thrilled to award this scholarship to Corynn, one of the brightest young students majoring in accounting today.”
Our entire team at Kaiser Consulting is grateful for the opportunity to help support Corynn’s dream of becoming a tax accountant. We wish her much success in her current academic endeavors. OU. Oh Yeah!
