Andrea is a resourceful CPA and CIA professional with 20+ years of Big Four public accounting, Fortune 500, Global 500, and business owner experience. She offers a well-rounded skill set, including internal and external auditing, corporate accounting, GAAP and SEC reporting, corporate governance and internal control frameworks, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and J-SOX compliance, and business process improvements.
Beginning her career as an external auditor at two global professional services firms, including Deloitte & Touche (now Deloitte), Andrea oversaw audits for companies of all sizes with revenues ranging from $10 million to $600 million and audited financial statements in compliance with GAAP for private and SEC clients. Subsequently, she was a senior accountant at a Fortune 500 publicly held international retailer before transitioning to a Global 500 automotive manufacturer’s audit department.
In her private sector roles, Andrea planned and completed a Quality Assurance Review for an audit department, generated consolidated financial statements for a logistics division, collaborated on an inter-company basis to implement cost-saving improvements, and conducted SOX controls testing for Business Process, Entity Level, and Information Technology General Controls (ITGC). As a small business owner, she solely performed all company and accounting functions, including researching issues, legal and tax filings, financial statement preparation, managing receivables and payables, product development, production and delivery, marketing, customer relations and vendor sourcing.
Andrea is adept at training and guiding accounting and audit teams to effectively execute tasks while meeting tight deadlines, overseeing the interim and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of GAAP financial statements and periodic SEC filings, and executing multiple types of engagements, including those related to fraud, labor, and suppliers. She can lead limited financial reviews and compliance and risk assessments per SOX Section 404 requirements, perform tests of controls, including walkthroughs, and communicate known deficiencies and suggest improvements to company executives.
Clients appreciate Andrea’s excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Her financial and auditing knowledge, positive attitude and ability to solve problems help to increase operational efficiencies at the businesses she serves.

Where is an exciting place you have visited?
Observing Pharoah Tutankhamun at the Valley of the Kings in Egypt was a surreal experience. However, one of my most memorable moments included eating freshly boiled piranha and plantains for dinner before sleeping under a mosquito net in the middle of the Amazon Rain Forest.
What is something interesting we would not learn about you from your resume alone?
I love to learn new things. When I am interested in something, I will spend a lot of time learning and perfecting it, becoming a master of the subject or task. Some examples include planning, sourcing and constructing a two-tiered paver patio, setting up a home-bakery business, and learning how to twist complex balloon animals.
What is one of the best pieces of advice you have received?
You can never make everyone happy, so why try? Focus that energy inward and become happy with yourself.
