Heather is a highly motivated and skilled accounting professional with nearly 15 years of experience overseeing multiple for-profit companies' start-up, business and financial operations, including owning and operating several of her own companies, the most recent being a real estate and rental business. Capable of embracing new challenges and adapting to various industries, she has an extensive educational background and has earned two bachelor's degrees with honors and two advanced degrees, including a Master of Accountancy.

Beginning her career as an office manager, Heather was responsible for many daily accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, account reconciliations, and payroll. Subsequently, she held simultaneous positions as a proprietor and controller, directing the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple self-owned companies. In addition to being adept at daily accounting tasks, she has experience raising capital from external sources, contract administration, performing research, and setting up and managing business registrations, licenses, insurance, and employee benefit plans, including health, retirement, and fringe benefit plans.

Heather is proficient in the month-and-year-end close process, preparing timely financial statements and external compliance reports, periodic tax preparation, and processing payroll for union and non-union workers, including garnishments and direct deposits. A skilled user of QuickBooks, OpenInvoice, and ADP, she is well-versed in various cloud-based contractor management software like ISNetworld and Veriforce.
