On a Lighter Note

What was your first job?
My first job was detasseling corn stalks while I was in high school. My friends and I would get up early in the morning and work throughout the day in all kinds of weather, including the hot sun and rain. We still all have fond memories of that time together.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy crocheting baby blankets and all sizes of afghans during the winter. I like tending to my flowers, planting a vegetable garden, and freezing and canning vegetables in the spring and summer. My favorite pastime is burying myself in a good romance or mystery book. It’s a great stress reliever.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you have received?
Believe in yourself; there is nothing that you can’t accomplish. Everything happens for a reason and makes you a better person.
