About Nicole

A multi-talented accounting and auditing professional with proven project management skills, Nicole brings 10+ years of experience with Big Four firm Deloitte to her engagements. She excels at improving the financial health of organizations through quantitative analysis, risk management, process improvement, budget control, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Throughout her decade-long career with Deloitte, Nicole progressed from being an external auditor in one of the firm’s U.S. offices to supporting client service delivery for a specialized portfolio of attest engagements in the firm’s national Office of the CEO. A dynamic former CPA, her experience includes training new employees on audit methods and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures, conducting compliance audits and reporting audit findings, performing analytical procedures and analyses on financial data, and collaborating with executives and internal audit personnel to identify, recommend, and implement operational improvements to internal audit procedures.

While providing auditing services to a Fortune 500 power company, Nicole gained in-depth knowledge of the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) Enterprise standards and regulatory compliance trends. Subsequently, while supporting client engagements in Deloitte’s national office, she gained broad-based exposure to operations in multiple industries.

Nicole is well-versed in corporate governance issues and enterprise-wide best practices and capably educates and assists board and audit committee members. A prior accomplishment includes modernizing Deloitte’s Audit Committee Brief, a periodic publication providing audit committee members with recommendations, corporate governance resources, regulatory and legislative environment outlooks, and technical updates. In addition to her financial planning and reporting skills, Nicole researches and documents conclusions on complex accounting and auditing matters, coordinates and disseminates relevant information to senior leadership, and develops and facilitates learning solutions to enhance professionals' audit and strategic skills.

With her diversified financial and leadership experience, clients appreciate Nicole's dedication to helping their organization execute efficient and effective solutions as she builds strong client relationships and delivers high-quality results.

On a Lighter Note

Are there any causes you like to support, and do you volunteer anywhere?
I’m a supporter of the American Cancer Society and other cancer organizations. I also volunteer at two organizations in my home state of Ohio – St. Matthew School in Gahanna and St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus.

Is there a favorite dish you make that people rave over?
I enjoy cooking and baking, and most people love my lasagna or spicy Italian sausage pasta dish.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you have received?
A high school teacher introduced me to a quote by Charles Swindoll called “Attitude” which I referenced in my salutatorian speech and still refer to today. I really like the last portion, “We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
