Lara is a versatile, committed business professional with 17+ years of accounting, finance, and auditing experience based upon positions held with a publicly held Fortune 500 fashion retailer and a closely held design-build construction firm. She adeptly applies her diverse technical knowledge and proven management skills to deliver superior project results to her clients.

Beginning her career as an internal auditor, Lara is well-versed in planning and performing financial audit procedures and SOX control testing, compiling and reporting results, and identifying and making process improvement and SOX compliance recommendations. She can lead internal audit teams and collaborate with leadership to align corporate governance goals and objectives with an organization’s risk mitigation strategies.

Lara has advanced to positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, including senior accountant, senior financial analyst, accounting operations and investment services manager, and financial reporting manager. Her roles have included managing the financial reporting and monthly close process, preparing and presenting financial statement analyses to the highest levels of executive management, and serving as a key finance partner during a time of company expansion to a U.S. territory.

She is at ease working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, both domestically and internationally, to achieve common goals timely and accurately. Lara is skilled in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, capital spending, GAAP, fixed assets and depreciation, inventory, real estate occupancy expenses for retail operations, construction-in-progress and lease accounting, contract compliance, and employee benefits.
